Conformity- Katie Oechslin

Conformity according to simplypsycology.org is a type of social influence involving a change in belief or behavior in order to fit in with a group.  This happens to people all of the time.  We can’t even lie to ourselves and say that we haven’t conformed to something in our lives before because we have!  If all of your friends smoke cigarettes and you hang out with them all the time, you might start smoking cigarettes after a long period of time.  Especially if they are pressuring you into it and talking about how great it is, etc.  This can also happen with politics and how candidates are picked.  They show ads and campaigns so that people respect them more and then they develop a liking for them and create a conformity.
