We all have some sort of integrity that we strive to uphold. Integrity to me would be a code of ethics that one would adhere to and keep when confronted with situations that challenge one’s beliefs of right and wrong. Just like in school with the academic integrity code we get in our syllabus, we are expected to uphold to the school’s code. As students we are expected to work hard, do our own work, and represent UNC-Charlotte as respectable students. W. Clement Stone once said, “Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity.” That seems to me like the perfect way to live life with integrity. Treating others the way we want to be treated and respecting other people’s rights are the perfect examples of living life with integrity. It is also not something we can just pretend to have because only we can know what exactly our own values and morals are. The things we do when no one is looking define the persons we are.
