Being raised in a small town in the South, I feel as if sometimes it’s hard for people to have their own opinions, especially those differing from their parents. Close-mindedness is passed down, I feel; passed down like hatred, racism, etc. Some people stay closed off in their own little world and refuse to come out and I think that’s kind of sad. To truly experience this life, you need to go out and see new things and meet new people, and that means being accepting of the way they live their lives.
Being open-minded can also be thought of as taking little risks that you wouldn’t have before. I feel as if we were put on this world for a purpose more than to just work all the time, we’re meant to experience adventures and not take things for granted. People get so caught up in their one-track way of life and they forget that everyday is precious and should be appreciated.
